Akron, OHIO (Jan 11, 2024) — Do you know someone whose work has left an indelible mark on the local arts scene in Summit and surrounding counties? Now is the time to recognize their contributions by nominating them for a prestigious Arts Alive Award, presented annually by Summit Artspace.
Established in 2002, the Arts Alive Awards recognize and honor outstanding local artists and advocates for their contributions to the arts and culture sector in Summit and surrounding counties. Nominations for the 2024 recipients are currently open and will close on February 5, 2024. Summit Artspace seeks candidates for 11 award categories:
Arts Educator
Arts Patron
Collaborative Project
Emerging Artist
IDEA (Inclusion. Diversity, Equity and Access) Leader
Outstanding Artist in Dance
Outstanding Artist in Theatre
Outstanding Artist in Music
Outstanding Visual Artist
Outstanding Literary Artist
Rising Arts Leader
A distinguished committee comprised of previous Arts Alive Award recipients evaluates the nominations and selects deserving recipients for each category. In addition, Summit Artspace will also present special awards, including Summit Artspace Champion, Arts Alive Award, and Lifetime Achievement.

Save the date for the Arts Alive Awards Gala and Ceremony on May 14, 2024. This unforgettable evening, filled with food, music, gallery exhibitions, award presentations and more, is an annual highlight on Summit Artspace’s calendar. Tickets for the event will be available beginning March 31, 2024, on Summit Artspace’s website. Proceeds from the event support Summit Artspace’s mission to connect local artists with the resources they need to thrive professionally, creatively, and financially.
