Betty Michael Wolfe is a signature member of Akron Society of Artists, Women’s Art League of Akron, Cuyahoga Valley Art Center and Whiskey Painters of America.
Her striking, character-driven paintings will be displayed from July 27 through Sept. 21 at Summit Artspace on Tusc. The show opens with a reception with Betty on Saturday, July 27, 12-5 p.m. Admission to the show and the reception are free.

The gallery is open weekly on Friday, 5-8 p.m., and Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Admission is free. Plan to visit the artist studios in the building.
ABOUT BETTY Michael Wolfe
She served as President of the Women’s Art League, as Publicity and Internet Coordinator, and as the League’s representative during the formation of the Alliance for the Visual Arts (AVA). She also served as Board of Director’s Secretary for Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (CVAC), and on the Steering Committee for the early years of the Kaleidoscope juried exhibit of artists from the area’s art societies and organizations and Sorelle (now Sister’s).
She has extensive training in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, sumi watercolor & ink, collage and experimental media.
She began her studies at the University of Akron and the Professional School of Painting and Design at the studios of Jack Richard learning about color in his color lecture series and painting the portrait models, building armatures and studying sculpture with Miles Paladino. She continued with locally and internationally renowned artists and workshop instructors. Anatomy classes for two summers with Byrd Looker were a highlight in experience and growth.
Portfolio: Landscapes, florals, seascapes, still life, portraits, collage and abstracts.
She shows her work through juried exhibitions, invitationals abd solo shows and has received numerous awards. Her work has been published in local magazines and newspapers.
Painting the models with Akron Society of Artists Friday mornings at Summit Artspace is an opportunity for continued artistic growth.
