The Bottom of Reality | Michael Marras
Betty and Howard Taylor Main Gallery
This exhibition continues narratives that run through Michael Marras’ sculptural artworks, including “Voyages of the Drum Heller,”, a tale about a vessel of records that catalogs and collects items, journeying across space and time. The ship represents the artist’s process of storytelling through sculpture composed of collected objects from Akron’s decaying industrial giants. The works are created from reclaimed steel juxtaposed with computer-generated laser-cut parts, combining old and new technologies.
