Rock formations in primitive landscapes become personified in Greg Caudill‘s work. The setting and style of paleoart infused with textured layering of paint defines the artist’s acrylic paintings. Dubbed the “anti-Bob Ross” for his use of brutal brushstrokes, Greg has formed his own unique landscape style.
Gregory Caudill, has honed his craft since his youth in Barberton, OH. Caudill creates entire worlds in which the casual observer can become easily immersed. He expanded into the realm of acrylic on canvas paintings over the past 15 years, with subject matter that reflects his fascination with rock formations and rich natural textures. Dubbed the “anti-Bob Ross,” Caudill admits to being brutal with the generic brushes he often uses. Aside from his father (who as an architect influenced his son with his attention to detail), Gregory’s influences include Paleo artists such as Dough Henderson, Eleanor Kushan, and Charles Knight. Caudill’s work has been exhibited at diverse venues in Summit and Stark counties.
